WILLIMANTIC CT – Savings Institute Bank & Trust’s employees recently donated more than $4,000 to 31 local organizations that work to alleviate hunger and homelessness in Eastern Connecticut and Southern Rhode Island. The donations came from the bank’s 100% employee funded Caring & Giving Program. Some of the worthy organizations who receive funds included Enfield Loaves and Fishes, Covenant Soup Kitchen, Reliance Center, MLK Center of Newport, and the Jonnycake Centers of Peacedale and Westerly.

“It’s very gratifying to work with a team of caring and generous employees whose contributions to the annual campaign make these important contributions possible,” remarked Rheo Brouillard, President, and CEO.

The Caring & Giving Program was established in 2000 and has donated more than $275,000 to worthwhile community organizations that employees hand select each quarter of the year.
