Savings Institute Bank & Trust Employees Donate Funds to Assist the Elderly

Feb 22, 2018

Willimantic, CT – Each quarter of the year Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees come together to help a local cause through the bank’s 100% employee-funded Caring and Giving Program. Employees help select what causes are most important to them, and then deserving organizations who help with those causes receive funds. The latest quarter focused on assisting the elderly and resulted in over $4,000 in donations to local organizations including ARC of Quinebaug Valley, Jonnycake Center, Center for Medicaid Advocacy and Charlestown Senior Community Center.

“I’m proud to be able to work with my fellow team members each quarter to help out local organizations in need. It’s truly heartwarming to see so many employees come together to make these donations possible,”stated Bill Anderson, Senior Vice President and Caring and Giving Program Chairperson.

The Caring and Giving Program began in 2000 and has donated more than $200,000 to worthwhile community organizations over that span. In 2017, Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees gave over $15,000 to the deserving programs they have selected.
