Savings Institute Bank & Trust Comes Together to Help Kids in Need

Jun 07, 2017
WILLIMANTIC CT – Each quarter of the year Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees come together to help a local cause through the bank’s 100% employee-funded Caring and Giving Program. Employees help select what causes are most important to them, and then deserving organizations in those causes receive funds each quarter. The first quarter of the year was focused on helping kids in need. Organizations receiving the donations, totaling more than $3,400, included Windham Area Interfaith Ministry, Northeast Opportunity for Wellness and Jonnycake Centers of Peacedale and Westerly.

“It’s amazing to see our employees come together to support great causes like these each quarter and we’re proud to be able to continue this program into its 17th year ,” stated Bill Anderson, Senior Vice President and Caring and Giving Program Chairperson.
The Caring and Giving Program began in 2000 and has donated more than $200,000 to worthwhile community organizations over that span. In 2017, Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees plan on giving over $15,000 to the deserving programs they have selected.
