SI Financial Foundation, Inc Grant Helps Norwich Student’s Go Back to School

NORWICH CT – SI Financial Foundation, Inc., recently awarded $1,500 to the Norwich Community Backpack Program, which provides backpacks and school supplies to student’s within the Norwich school system at the start of school, along with a supply of filled backpacks for those who may need them during the school year. Facilitated by Norwich Free Academy’s Project Outreach student organization 233 backpacks were filled with supplies funded by this grant and others.

The Norwich Community Backpack Program was started 19 years ago and almost ended in 2014 when funding came in short. With the help of donations like this one, the program continues on today.
