WILLIMANTIC CT (September 2016) – Each quarter of the year Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees come together to help a local cause through the bank’s 100% employee-funded Caring and Giving Program. The second quarter of 2016 focused on aiding individuals with disabilities or special needs and donated $3,000 to eighteen local organizations including Olean Foundation, Inc., The Matty Fund, Project Genesis and Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center among others.
“I’m incredibly proud of our employees and their commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. For sixteen years our Caring and Giving Program has helped local organizations continue to make a positive impact,” remarked Rheo Brouillard, CEO and President, Savings Institute Bank & Trust.
The Caring and Giving Program began in 2000 and has donated more than $200,000 to worthwhile community organizations over that span. In 2016, Savings Institute Bank & Trust employees plan on giving over $13,700 to the deserving programs they have selected.
