WILLIMANTIC CT (September 2016) – SI Financial Foundation, Inc., recently awarded $5,000 to Horizons, Inc in support of the “Now More Than Ever Project.” This project allows Horizons to continue providing - at an affordable cost in the face of drastic state cuts - valuable recreational opportunities for individuals who have developmental disabilities and equally valuable respite opportunities for their families.
"Horizons, Inc is an amazing organization right in our backyard. We’re very proud of what they give back to our community and that we could support them through the SI Financial Foundation [Inc]. This grant will help this worthy organization expand their operations and allow them to continue to touch lives every day,” remarked Rheo Brouillard, CEO and President, Savings Institute Bank & Trust.
“We couldn’t do the work we do without the help of SI Financial Foundation. I speak for all the individuals we support and their families when I say we are extremely grateful,” stated Chris McNaboe, Executive Director, Horizons, Inc.
Horizons was founded in 1979 by sisters and special education teachers Chris and Kathleen McNaboe. They identified a need for those with developmental disabilities to have the opportunity to take part in fun away-from-home activities and offer a respite to their care takers. Each year Horizons provides respite services to 1,500 children and their families and supports nearly 1,700 through their various programs.
SI Financial Foundation, Inc. was established in 2005 by SI Financial Group, Inc., the parent company of the Savings Institute Bank & Trust.
